This work presents an adaptation of the production flow analysis technique (PFA). This method is suitable for Brazilian small and medium size companies. The goal is to simplify the production flow by mean of a similarity of production process. A case study was carried out in a small furniture industry in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The result obtained was the optimization of the production flow. This method seems to be ideal for productive systems operating with small batches, in the case, for small and medium size companies. Moreover, it has low cost and low risk and can be quicky implemented.
