dc.description.abstractThe Business Intelligence function has been used private companies in order to getting strategic information and elaborating forecastings. Information is usually gotten in the company from external envioronment and used by members of the decision-making process of the company. However, the use of those functions in the public sector, so called Social Intelligence, has been restricted. This dissertation discusses the use and necessity of strategic information in Belo Horizonte city hall and checks if the social intelligence functions have been developed at the mayors office. Moreover, this dissertation presents a proposal to structure intelligence function in municipal administrations.
