Educação continuada como oportunidade de melhoria para a assistência de enfermagem: uma revisão integrativa

The educational process is not finite, but unfinished. Continuing education is a program developed by professionals that constantly seek to provide the individual the acquisition/ maintenance / optimization knowledge, after its professionalization, thus being a professionalnecessity. This study is justified by the belief that a better understanding of the subject will lead to the improvement of nursing care and optimize patient safety. The aim of the study was to analyze how the continuing education has contributed to the improvement of nursing care.This is an integrative review was performed in six stages. The search was conducted by virtual health library, considering the publication period between 2003 and 2013 and other criteria for inclusion / exclusion criteria were applied. Were effectively recovered for this study 10 articles. Most found in international databases and English, with the year 2009 withthe highest number of publication (05) Interestingly is that the majority (50%) have nurses as authors. Seven were developed in hospitals with a focus on adult health. Regarding the methodological course studies with application of pre and post-test (05) were the majority. It is observed that most of them had the purpose of measure the effectiveness of staff training (n = 07). It was found that nursing has imported more and more with the quality of assistance and has sought answers qualified care attendance and the quality is linked to health education. The nurse is essential for the development of these practices. The development of this work was of great importance to realize the panorama of this process in pursuit of quality so widespread in the health sector.
