dc.description.abstractThe paper presents a sociological analysis of teenagers school experiences on their senior year on a public high school, correlating with the construction of their educational and/or professional aspirations. The results of a questionnaire that was applied on two different school periods, focal group works, besides teachers and a school board representative interviews are discussed in this paper. It was investigated to what length the variables related to the students school trajectory would be involved on design of their aspirations and expectations. The research theme came up after readings of some sociological studies on the bachelor degree choices, which pointed to a strong correlation between the candidates social position or background and their degree choices. Additionally, other authors have been contributing with this discussion appointing factors, which relativize the linear relation between the individual origin and social position and his projections for the future. It is in this context that this research proposes to comprehend the importance of the school experience on the persons life projects. In general, the data points out aspects such as educational development, student-teacher relations and information given by the school as important factor on the students definitions on their future.
