Estimação do erro de ensaio de peneiramento de minério de ferro

Abstract

In this work it was developed a method for estimating the variance of the sieving test error to the upper specification limit of an iron ore product. The results allowed the calculation of the confidence interval for the percentage of material finer than the upper screen limit. Those were applied for estimating the effectiveness coefficient of screening, which is the ratio between particle presentations to passage and number of oscillations during the material flow on screen surface. This estimation was based on the law of total probability and the particle size distribution of feed. Considering the size distribution of the products tested the results have shown that the time could be reduced in determining the percentage of material finer than the upper specification screen.
