This study aimed to verify the possibility of obtaining welded joints of TRIP DP 780 steel through resistance seam welding process, and to perform non-destructive testing, destructive test and microstructure evaluation of the melted zone.Initially, a literature review on the TRIP steel and resistance seam welding process was performed. After this review, it was carried out the planning of the experimental procedure and the tests to be carried out and the acceptance criterion.Samples were produced using sheets with a thickness of 1.0 mm. The welding was carried out by changing parameters such as type of current, welding speed, welding force. After welding, the best quality sample was selected visual inspection and submitted to micrograph analysis and destructive and non-destructive testing. After conducted the tests, it was found that martensite was present in the molten zone, and that this caused the embrittlement of the material and the appearance of cracks.
