This is a quantitative descriptive study that aims at carry out an analysis of the Humanization Program of Prenatal care and Birth in Capitólio-MG. A survey of secondary data of Sisprenatal was utilized as a methodology, and it focused on the percentage of 563 pregnant women over pre-established periods of time. The results obtained through the survey show variations of the indicators over the seven considered periods. The town could reach the standards expected by the Health Ministry during the first two years of the Program. With regard to early treatment, the last period had the lowest percentage. The six prenatal consultations accomplishment, the puerperal consultation and the fulfillment of all exams, including VDRL were increasing up to the fourth period, but they decreasing in the subsequent periods. Immunization was mostly increasing. The anti-HIV exams exceeded 95% in all the considered periods. From these results, it was possible to identify the likely problems that interfere with the Program quality. The necessity of a restructuring of attention to prenatal care in the town was verified in order to improve the indicators. The development of actions of promotion, prevention and assistance to pregnant women, such as:Improvement of access, quality of care, team training, skilled professionals engagement, of the Health Ministry guiding lines implementation and better coordination of public policies are measures that should be taken so that the option for prenatal care can be effective.
