Abstract

This research deals with remaining Jesuitic sculpture in northeastern Pará, testimony of evangelization in Northern Brazil. Structural bases of the Society os Jesus are presented as well as the trnaspositions of european religious invocations to Pará. Stylistic and formal analyses werw made over works donated/purchased or manufactured in their workshops, under the guidance of qualified european prists and brothers using local craftsmen and máster builders.
