dc.description.abstractThis article analyzes the continuous improvement strategies and their relevance to university extension services. To this end, the study was descriptive and exploratory and it was developed through case study research in a radio program from university. The data collection and analysis were guided by the work of Kaye and Anderson (1999) in which the relevant practices of continuous improvement were grouped into three categories of analysis. The results found in the field were compared with academic papers about the university extension activities and these were compared with studies of adopted practices and difficulties encountered in organizations that have adopted practices related to continuous improvement. These analyses revealed similarities and pointed out some reflections about the challenges to the implementation of activities of this nature in university extension services
