Resumen
This study aimed to identify, through a literary review, the main extrinsic factors that predispose practitioners to lower limb injury in swimmers. Twenty articles we reanalyzed. Among these articles, nine were adequate to the theme. The data collected show that anatomical region with the highest incidence of injury is the knee, especially related to breaststroke. Descriptive analysis was used. The main extrinsic factors causing injury to swimmers are training volume and swimming stroke. The practitioners of swimming must avail themselves of some preventive measures focused on these factors in order to prevent such incidence.
