dc.description.abstract | In July 2011 I had the opportunity to spend some time in an English speaking country for the first time in my life. At the time I chose to go to New York for economic reasons I had a place to stay for free which allowed me to explore other areas of study other than the English language. While preparing my trip I came across the website of a pizza school and they were offering pizza workshops. So I thought to myself that this would be a great idea, since I have always liked cooking and pizza has always been my favorite food. Also I saw in this workshop a great opportunity not only to improve my English but also to learn new things and meet interesting people. So it happened. The workshop was a tremendous success and the people I met there contributed a lot to the improvement of my language skills. Moreover, I gained a great deal of autonomy, since I do not have to rely on going out to restaurants when I want to eat some good pizza. Not to mention the learning of vocabulary and expressions concerning this specific area of gastronomy. | |
