dc.description.abstract | The Uterine-cervical cancer control obeys to the secondary prevention strategy based on the cervical cytology; a detection technique which has been used in some countries for more than thirty years. However, there is a large number of attended women that resist doing the test. During my research I have observed that the Pap smear Test can bring, among other things, discomfort or even embarrassment for women who have been tested due to the exposure of an intimate part of their bodies. Associated to this, some women are not well informed about the main objective of the test and most of the time, their psychosocial reflex is not considered or even trivialized. Therefore, this research proposes to carry out a narrative review with the objective of identifying the psychosocial factors which influence in the Pap smear Test and that is available in publications. For this, a bibliographic research in LILACS database and a manual and computerized research of literature that address the issue were done. From the studies raised, it was noticed that there is a variety of factors involved in the test accession. Factors ranging from cultural and test-facing aspects to factors related to the Health Women Service Organization that can facilitate the women access or not. It is important to recognize these aspects, because the ignorance and the non-facing problem have been the reason of the low accession from women for doing the Pap smear Test. So, the Health professionals and the Health Service have to organize and concentrate effort on the early detection of women, based on strategies related to the psychosocial characteristics present in the local reality. | |
