Perhaps the greatest epistemic violence perpetrated by the Western against Egypt was not the appropriation of its materialities, but the construction of the idea of an exclusively pharaonic Egypt. As a consequence of this idealization process, the Egyp-tian landscape started to be modeled by Archaeologists, Egyptologists and the Egyptian government to represent only the Pharaonic past. The expulsion of the residents of the village of Qurna was the tragic outcome of this process. More than ten years after the process of expropriation of the Qurnawi community, much remains to be understood, especially how our scientific approaches affect local communities. In this sense, I propose to discuss the concept of landscape based on local theories, showing that before being a fixed element, the landscape is the result of a relationship.
