This study is an investigation about the mega event of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 and its relationship with education in a public school in Belo Horizonte. In the period between 2007 and 2016 Brazil has been as host country of the world's most important sporting events. The holding of the World FIFA Brazil 2014, brought changes in the lives of people independent of them being supporters or not, changes in headquarter cities and produced impacts in different fields such as the economy, politics, spatial organization, technology, and so on, believing also on possible interventions in the institutionalized and educated education, which has general guidelines, and therefore it was expected something from it in its relationship with this leisure mega event. In this qualitative research, was performed a case study through the analysis of documents, questionnaire, interview and focus group application. For this, I conducted a bibliographic review on the mega event of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014, leisure studies and education. The results showed that the organizers of the event - FIFA and government agencies - treated education as secondary, not exploiting the realization of this mega event within the school. In addition, the data found that the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 was an event that presented an educational a few explored potential for curriculum subjects and a legacy for education that could be constructed from the school itself, since it is a space construction and reflection of knowledge.
