Resumen
This thesis aims at investigating the theatrical aesthetic production of the Chilean director and playwright Ramón Griffero. In order to perform this research, it was conducted a historical and political study of the insertion of socialist ideologies in Chile and, by extension, in otherLatin American countries, which have led to Salvador Allendes election. It analyzes the dictatorship commanded by Augusto Pinochet and the crisis of the previous model. This historical approach indicates the importance of the performing arts in this country, especially regarding the formation of university theatrical groups. This same historical digression alsoallows us to perceive the political nuances of Griffero's oeuvre, which are related both to a deep socio-historical critique and to a reflection of the scenic space, through the images produced. The political aspect present in the work of this artist goes beyond contextual issues, to become, also, an artistic-critical construction of the theatrical expositions that preceded it. Thoughts of historical and aesthetical character such as those of Walter Benjamin, Georges Didi-Huberman, Jacques Rancière, Sara Rojo, Grínor Rojo, Angel Rama among others forms the theoretical basis for the elaboration of this thesis. In the last chapter, there are six criticalessays to six plays by Griffero, which reaffirms the thesis that the work of this author performs a profound political, aesthetical and historical reflection for theatre, mainly through the images he constructs in his spectacles.
