The interest in sustainable construction and green building has been growing along with the green certifications as a way to evaluate their sustainable development. The certifications in hospital buildings stand out because they are projects of great impact in the urban environment. This work seeks to study the technical and economic feasibility of green certifications in hospital buildings. For this, a research was carried out in 3 stages: a bibliographic survey on green certification and LEED Certification; the case study of the Ambulatory of Faculdade Ciências Médicas - MG, which was done through the application of 5 questionnaires to the involved publics: owner, builders, operations manager and architect. Finally, through the results observed in the previous steps, the last stage of critical analysis on the application of the LEED Certification in the building under study was carried out. The conclusions indicate that the main difficulty for its adoption is the high initial cost.
