We conducted an integrative review of studies published in the last decade, indexed in the LILACS, MEDLINE and PubMed, with the descriptors "pain" and "obstetric nursing." Using the inclusion criteria design and methodology proposed, the final sample consisted of eight articles. The analysis started by identifying the original article, the evaluation of methodological rigor, the interventions applied and the test results presented. The study included four trials, three survey-type studies and a systematic literature review. Evidence demonstrated that the noninvasive methods such as massages, baths immersion techniques and breathing decrease stress and anxiety of pregnant women contributing to the relief of labor pain. Within this context, for us nurses, the parameters of this research will provide support for the development of activities directed to the health care of woman.
