The purpose of this integrative review was to describe the physical activity practices for the aged in Homes for the Aged. From the BVS database, the descriptors used for the search were Motor Activity, Homes for the Aged and Aged. We found 47 articles, and these three were excluded by double-blind, resulting in 44. Only 7 met the inclusion criteria. The following activities in the institutions investigated were observed: leisure activities (crafts, social and recreational); physical activity in general (walking, gymnastics, dance, number of steps, heating and stretching), basic and instrumental activities of daily living, and gardening. Only two items mentioned the professionals responsible for developing the activities. It is noted in the scientific literature a shortage of studies that clarify how are the guidelines for physical activity in homes for the aged.
