Comparaçõa dos levantamentos epidemiológicos em escolares de 05 a 14 anos através do índice de CPOD no Vale São Francisco - Luislândia- MG

The dental caries still is a common illness in the Brazilian children. In virtue of this, it is necessary to carry through evaluations being aimed at to have a real diagnosis of the situation and, with this, to plan and to organize the services of attention to the buccal health. The objective of this study was to carry through a comparison enters the results of the surveys epidemiologists in buccal health, carried through with pertaining to school of 05 the 14 years, through the CPOD index. It is a retrospective longitudinal study. The surveys epidemiologists had been carried through between 1997, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2008, for sampling in ten municipal schools and two state schools of the city of Luislândia/MG, according to instructions of the manual technician number twenty of the SES/MG. The examination in 550 pertaining to school was carried through, in the dependences of the schools, under the natural light, using buccal mirrors and step-Down of language and the pupils had carried through brush supervised previous to the examination. The team used the paramentos of bio security recommended e, also, was calibrated. The data had been analyzed using the SPSS. The results had shown that the average of the CPOD had fall of the CPOD in all the surveys epidemiologists (1997 was of 3,64; in 1999 the average of the CPOD was of 3,00; in 2001 it was of 2,65; in 2004 the average of the CPOD was of 1,63; in 2006 average CPOD was of 1,24 e, in 2008 the average of the CPOD was of 1,44), with exception in the comparison of the CPOD of 2006 with 2008 where it had a small increase of the same (average 2006 - 1,24 - average 2008 - 1,44 - p = 0,000). Front to the found results, is concluded that it had decline of the caries, showing that the implantation of the public measures of buccal health in the city, from 1997, occasioned considerable effect in the studied population.
