dc.description.abstractThe Family Health Strategy (FHS) is a new way of reversing the model of care focused on illness to focus on the families enrolled in a given territory, through links established, developing health promotion, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance health. Given these actions, the health team is part of the family in context strategies for prevention and control of cervical cancer, since currently the cancer of the cervix is a major cause of morbidity and mortality among women over 35 years. This study aimed to systematize knowledge about the prevention of cervical cancer within the Family Health Strategy in PSF Santirocchi Francisco Campos Altos / MG, with a focus on promotion and prevention of cervical cancer. This is a bibliographic database being used for the study, and BIREME Virtual Health Library, where they were found only in Portuguese literature sources, ranging between 1998 and 2009. It was observed that the Family Health Strategy is possible to reduce the number of morbidity and mortality from cervical cancer, since some risk factors for the pathogenesis of cervical cancer, such as human papilloma virus, are found mostly in low income and schooling, requiring a planned and that has a good resolubility. So it is in the family health team Santirocchi Francisco, with the adoption of measures like collecting Papanicolaou, the active search for women by defaulting rotary binder, early diagnosis and monitoring of gynecological through community health workers. However, there are still some limitations, such as low compliance of users to the program and lack of material resources, which can disrupt the work of the team, causing disrepute by the users. It can be said that there is a need for improvement in planning prevention and health promotion by the city administration and staff of family health Santirocchi Francisco, added that the acquisition of knowledge of users can increase the membership of the same Program to combat cervical cancer, aiming to ensure better care and quality of life for women.
