This Dissertation is about an experimental study made in Eucalyptus Grandis laminated timber connections under combined efforts (bending moment and shearing force) to determine these connections rigidity. The bending tests were made in wood pieces in L form. At the connection region, eight galvanized tubes (hollow screws) were used and two displacement transducers were installed, one in horizontal position and the other in vertical position, to determine the rotation between the wood pieces. As predicted, the wood walls were crushed and the bending of the tubes did not occur. From the results some moment x rotation curves were plotted.Wood mechanical properties were analyzed through non destructive tests by ultrasound. The embedment resistances in perpendicular and parallel to the grain directions were also determined. At the connection region two displacement transducers were installed to measure the relative displacement between the tube and the wood piece extreme. From theresults some tension x strain curves were plotted and then the embedment resistances were found when this connection is used.
