Educação permanente e continuada: instrumentos para a prática de enfermagem

It is a study of integrative literature review on contributions found in the literature about the permanent education, continuing education or the like in order to identify the contributions of permanent education and continuing education for the improvement of nursing care in health institutions. It was used as the Integrative Review methodology,which was conducted in the following databases: Medline and Lilacs. The descriptors used were: continuing education in nursing; Nursing staff; Training in service; Human resources in nursing. Initially, through the reading of titles, found himself a total of 80 articles. Of these, 17 articles were submitted to reading summaries. Fifteen articles were deleted due to one or more criteria referred to as exclusion: qualitative articles; prior to2003; not meant for nursing staff; reflective articles and reviews of the literature. Thus, there were two articles that composed this literature review. Highlights that there are many knowledge produced about the processes of permanent education, continuing education or the like. Their concepts are clearly different, but present a supplementarycharacter. However despite being based on different methodologies, it is observed that there are conflicts to conceptualize each of these educational processes and observed right ignorance and irrelevance by the nurses of concrete actions of permanent education and continuous based on studying problems pedagogy.
