Resumen
66.534 agar gel imunodifusion teste results comprising the 1973-1991 period were studied. This analysis showed that the evolutio of the Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) presents two well defined stages. The first stage took place on the 1973-1977 period on closed hippic entities (usually in race horses) where the EIA was erradicated. During this stage the prevalence was 6.12%. The second stage refers to the illness on the country. In this case the AIE attacked other races, mainly crossbred animals. The prevalence was 3.90%. The risk regions of Minas Gerais state were stablished by definition of the endemic, epiendemic and paraendemic ecossistems and by their conections with the controls programs. The Noroeste Mineiro and Nordeste Mineiro were defined as endemic and epiendemic ecossistems, the other areas of the state as paraendemic ecossistems.
