Resumen
This dissertation reflects on the use of Contemporary Technologies within the context of Art Education, focusing on the process of teaching and learning Visual Arts with Digital Technologies. Throughout the overview of the use of digital Technologies within the artistic and educational fields, I draw comparisons between Media Arts and teaching/learning Visual Arts. I seek to criticize and highlight relevant aspects of digital Technologies for Art Teaching contexts, which are intertwined in the critical and creative relation with the technologies. To do so, I explore the Constructionist approach of learning with digital media, proposing dialogues with the Art Education field. I analyze resources that allow building programmable devices by novices, having Crickets and Scratch as a case study. Therefore, I discuss these resources as open interfaces in teaching/learning Visual Arts. I also report on a practical experience performed with Art Education students from the School of Fine Arts at UFMG, which sought to instigate the development of teaching proposals using those resources.
