dc.description.abstractThe article intends to provide contributions to the debate on the use of the category of political culture in researches in the area of history. The text is divided in three parts, starting with a discussion about the origins of the concept (political culture) and its basic definition. Then we present a proposal for an analysis to identify the constituent elements of a brazilian political culture, takingin to account the current political crisis. The third part, finally, consists on some comments and explanations about the use of political culture in the author’s book “The universities and military regime. Brazilian political culture and authoritarian modernization”.
