dc.description.abstractThe effects of different spheroidizing annealing cycles on the mechanical properties of a SAE 1050 steel were avaluated. Samples of this material, as cold rolled, were submitted to heat treatment in laboratory scale, varying temperature and treatment time.The results showed that both time and processing temperature exerted influence on the steel mechanical properties. The microstructure of the material revealed exempt of lamelar constituents structure wich is typical of this material before annealing process. Based upon the laboratory results obtained here, new conditions were proposed for theindustrial processing of the steel.
