Proposta de atuação do enfermeiro para prevenção e controle do câncer do colo do útero nas mulheres residentes no município de Engenheiro Caldas - Minas Gerais

Abstract

Cancer of the cervix is the second most common in Brazilian women, except for cases of nonmelanoma skin cancer. When diagnosed and treated early the chances of cure are one hundred per cent. Screening for cervical cancer is a national priority indicators agreed upon by states and municipalities since 2006. Even so, Brazil has a high incidence of cervical cancer compared to developed countries that have well structured prevention program. This study aimed to conduct a literature review on nursing care protocol for the control of cancer of the cervix and prepare a proposal for the work of nurses to carry out activities to prevent and control cancer of the cervix in women in age range 25-59 years of age, residents in the municipality of Engenheiro Caldas. For this research was done in the scientific literature in the national database BDENF and LILACS, which resulted in the selection of 29 publications were used. Also used were the publications of the Ministry of Health on the subject. Nurses have a central role in the prevention and control of cancer of the cervix, as well as develop the managerial function within the units of the Family Health Strategy play exclusively the function of collection screening test in the city. Improve and standardize the work of professionals generates an improvement of the assistance provided by them. The implementation of the rotary binder contributes to comprehensive care, through tracking, monitoring and appropriate treatment of women in the age group recommended.
