Omnem e iurisdictio: comentários de Bartolus da Sassoferrato (1314-1357) sobre o dominium

This dissertation aims to investigate the conception of dominium present in the work of Bartolus da Sassoferrato (1314-1357). It is known that one of the subjects studied by learned men on the Italian peninsula from the fourteenth century. It was prerequisite for investigate the condition of the emperor as one who held dominium mundi. Among these scholars we can stand out Bartolus Sassoferrato, lawyer and professor at the University of Perugia. He had produced works on the laws that affect other jurists of the Trecento. The proposal is to provide some theoretical approaches concerning the policy and law in the fourteenth century, followed by an overview of coroners life and work. The question of the definition of dominium is presented, seeking to rescue at first the historical appropriation of the concept, then to understand the semantics of the term in the fourteenth century and its relation to studies on the iurisdictio and imperium.
