O papel das práticas educativas no controle glicêmico e prevenção de complicações para o paciente diabético: uma revisão integrativa

This is an integrative literature review with the aim of describing diabetes in their general sphere and identify the role of educational practices on glycemic control and prevention of complications resulting from diabetes, through articles about educational practices for individuals with diabetes available in the databases eletônicos data: National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE), Latin American Literature Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Database of Nursing (BDENF) to meet the recommendation that it seek different sources to survey published literature. Were included in this research study were presented in the paper from 2003 to April 2013 in the Portuguese language , available on the basis of free and full data arranged in order to access a total of 7 articles in Scielo and 3, 3 and Lilacs 1 in BDENF. The results show that the educational practices are developed mainly with the multidisciplinary team, and involve themes that reflect the daily life of living with diabetes. These practices are disseminated mainly through groups, bringing benefits not only to the individual with diabetes, but also for the health professional. A strategy with significant reflection in diabetic patient care is the teaching of the various educational practices in universities, which would be experienced in stages and later worked in health care.
