Reconstrução mandibular utilizando enxerto costocondral após exérese de mixoma odontogênico: revisão de literatura e relato de caso

The treatment of benign tumors of the jaws and their rehabilitation isthe subject of much disagreement among surgeons. The odontogenic myxoma is a benign tumor that affects the jaws with very aggressive features. The treatment and rehabilitation of patients with this lesion has always been a challenge in dentistry. The present study aims to conduct a review of the literature addressing issues related to odontogenic myxoma and its treatment, addressing their indications, advantages andlimitations of some techniques, and present a report of a clinical case performed in HMOB of a patient who underwent excision myxoma of mandible and immediate reconstruction with costochondral graft. The use of autogenous costochondral showed good results in the rehabilitation of the reported case, allowing a good adaptation of a reconstruction plate satisfactorily restoring the mandibular structure,returning his anatomical contour and restoring function condylar. Thus it is concluded that the technique according to various authors, is a good alternative for treatment of these lesions, since it was possible to return function and also restore the patient's facial symmetry.
