Background: Parkinson Disease (DP) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system that affects the basal ganglia, causing progressive loss of pigmented neurons in the substantia nigra, resulting in decreased production of dopamine. The cause of PD is unknown, but it is believed that environmental and genetic factors may be related to their appearance. These cognitive changes along with changes influence the performance of motor dual task (DT). Methods: We performed a query in the databases PubMed, Medline, Lilacs, and Peter using the following terms: Parkinson disease and dual task. Results: We found 81 articles, of which 25 articles were selected for the title and summary and then eliminated by the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Later, after careful reading of the articles, ten papers were selected for the preparation of this narrative review of the literature. Scientific papers were selected with the following study designs: randomized controlled trials (RCT's), experimental and open trial. Discussion: These findings help to improve the physiotherapy approach, not just focus on motor rehabilitation, but also functions that require cognition. Conclusion: It is necessary that more studies be conducted in order to provide accurate scientific information regarding the application of exercises DT in individuals with PD, which consequently may encourage the clinical improvement of these patients.
