Resumen
The magnetic separation step is a concentration used for the separation of useful species and may concentrate them or purify them. This separation depends on the mineral response when subjected to a magnetic field, called magnetic susceptibility. As the market is increasingly demanding, and the increased competition, changes in levels of iron ore in the mines, taking into account the geological aspects, like mineralogy and the genesis of it, require improvements in technology and a greater knowledge of minerals involved, to obtain a final product suitable for the consumer. Based on different levels and appropriate final products, these ores may require a specific technique in processing. Exists in the market a variety of magnetic separators, with low separators and high intensities that operate dry as wet, they are classified according to their field strength and the material to be concentrated and / or purified. The tabs are called drum separators, induced rolls, cross-belt, carousel, etc. The choice of which equipment to be used depends upon several considerations, the most important being the particle size distribution, the distribution of the magnetic material to be processed and the capacity of the equipment. This work is a synthetic literature review on the magnetic separation of iron ore. It is concluded in this study que one magnetic separation paragraph iron oxides and Very Effective .
