Resumen
The sanitary conditions are related to the number of intestinal parasites, whose transmission occurs most often through contaminated food, but also by water. The infection by intestinal parasites may occur in several ways. The most common are the fecal-oral transmission, in which the individual himself becomes contaminated, and ingestion of food contaminated with eggs or cysts of parasites. This type of transmission can be avoided if there is a commitment from government authorities in the implementation of effective sanitation and social policies that had as main objective the improvement of the socioeconomic conditions of low-income citizens. We identified the need to build a plan of action for Santa Rita do Ituêto, Minas Gerais, to address the problem, exposing to the community ways of preventing these diseases with actions such as hand washing after using the bathroom and, adequate hygiene of raw food so that the number of infected individuals decreases. The plan also addresses the community with information about the importance and necessity of prevention, as well as some ways to do so. Finally, it is expected that implementation of this action plan will bring better conditions of life for all residents of Santa Rita do Ituêto, promoting better health to them.
