A inserção da saúde bucal na Estratégia Saúde da Família

Abstract

The Family Health Strategy emerges as a model of a new orientation of sanitary practices in Brazil. The subsequent inclusion of oral health in the Family Health Strategy was a step in the reorganization of oral health actions in Primary Care. Represented the incorporation of concept of oral health as a component of health in broadest sense. This study examines the process insertion of oral health in Family Health Strategy and the changing paradigm and action on public health in Brazil. To meet these objectives, we analyze the statistical data available and the legal powers and the performance of real teams of oral health in the Family Health Strategy, assessing the contributions of those functions and performance in integrality and the humanization of access to basic rights of citizens.
