dc.description.abstractPractices of education in service has the purpose of developing professionals so that they become more capable and efficient in developing their practice. This practice of education must occur constantly, especially for the nursing teams of the Intensive Care Unit, where patients inserted there, need more complex care. The study aimed to identify in the literature the results of practices of education in-service for the nursing team on the patient safety measures in Intensive Care Units. This is an integrative review of the literature. To perform the search we used the descriptors of the LILACS and BDENF databases. We found 159 articles in these databases that after a thorough reading only 08 articles were included in the sample. It was observed that some of the selected articles pointed out certain fragilities of health institutions, in the absence or lack of adherence to in-service education practices. Others, it could be analyzed that there are deficiencies in educational practices focused on patient safety, and others have pointed out that there are studies that deal with an applied practice that did not obtain an expected success. Considering the relevance of the study, it was verified the need for new studies that address this theme, since few evaluated results that benefited the nursing team after having received the education in service. Thus, it was concluded that it was important to carry out this study, in relation to the educational process in the nursing area and that still needs to be more publicized because they are few known and practiced.
