The general objective of this study was to analyze if there was a reduction in the statistics of nonviolent and violent crimes in the places where there was the withdrawal of the commerce realized by the street vendors in the public places. As a specific objective, it was verified whether the regression trend in the crime rates found in the Barreiro regional data was represented in a similar way to the crime data of the Capital Belo Horizonte. There is a certain consensus among the public security organs that the removal of street vendors from the streets has a positive impact on the reduction of crime statistics in the places affected by the implementation of such policies. The present work used as a unit of analysis the regional Barreiro after the implementation of the policy of productive inclusion of camelôs, executed by the City of Belo Horizonte, from March 2018. Two observation times were analyzed: one was related to the period of twelve months preceding the implementation of urban policy, and the other, the twelve months that followed the implementation of the policy. A case study was carried out regarding this process, with the use of descriptive qualitative analysis of the data found. It was observed that, in the analyzed period, there was a reduction in the crime statistics of the Barreiro region, in a more intense way to that observed in the crime data of the capital Belo Horizonte. It is concluded with this study that there was a positive impact in the reduction of crime rates in the Barreiro region after the implantation of the policy of productive inclusion of street vendors in this region.
