dc.description.abstractConsidering the constant search for quality education for the deaf student in Brazil, the research addresses a didactic-investigative intervention on astronomy for the deaf. To this end, it addresses pedagogical strategies that assist in the teaching of Sciences using the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) as an appreciation of deaf culture. The results showed that the classroom transformed into a space that contemplated the communicative and pedagogical needs of deaf students provide greater enthusiasm and involvement in the proposed activities. When analyzing the collected data, we identified that science education for deaf students was a great challenge, given the complexity of the environment in which it occurs marked by intercultural encounter. We believe that the work, based on investigative teaching and with diversified activities, favored an articulation between science teaching and the culture of deaf students.
