Hyperadrenocorticism or Cushing's syndrome is a disordder associated with excess systemic cortisol, which can be endogenous or exogenous origin. Regarded as one of the most commomendocrinopathies in dog, can be classified as dependent on pituitary, adrenal dependent or iatrogenic. The classic signs include: polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, abdominal enlargement, alopecia, pyoderma, difficulty breathing and lethargy. Clinical and laboratory, ultrasoundimaging may help in diagnosis. Used medical treatment and or surgery and if left untreated can lead to sequelae such as diabetes mellitus, liver diseases, cardiac, musculoskeletal and skin diseases.
