The objective of the paper is to make an analysis of Theodor W. Adorno's text "On the fetishistic character in music and the regression of hearing", showing how the notion of fetish allows the author to delineate the self-denial of music, both by the absorption of value of use by the value of exchange, and by the infantilization of the public, when the pseudo-activity demonstrates a vertiginous coupling between individual and society.
