Resumen
Sports training for athletes are a process of progressive overload that leads to animprovement in performance. However, the intensity, volume, and recovery timebetween successive training sessions are factors that can determine the positiveresults like improvement of the physical condition and the negative results likeovertraining. Overtraining can be avoided by monitoring the effects of trainingthrough biochemical, physiological and psychological variables. The objective thisreview study is to present and analyze from the data of the specialized literature, thereliability of the biochemical, physiological and psychological markers in overtraining. The method used was a bibliographical review of studies published from 2005 andfor the search was used the databases Scielo, Bireme and Medline/PubMed. Sevenreview studies were selected. In the studies surveyed, there is no consensus aboutthe efficiency of some markers, but when analyzed correlating them, one can helpprevent overtraining and be part of the training strategy. There is a need for furtherstudies on this topic and standardization of protocols for some tests
