dc.description.abstractThis is a study that is used as a method of Integrative literature review that aimed to reflect on the process of continuing education as a possibility to transform the practice of nursing and meet the challenges of continuing education in health. To select the articles we used the databases of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State (UNIRIO), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (Lilacs) included in the Library virtual Health Library (VHL). The study population consisted of 12 items and the sample consisted of nine items. After analyzing the articles included in this review the results of the studies indicated that the process of continuing education as a learning strategy is necessary for the formation of an individual critic, reflective, and transforming their practice, which will contribute to continuous quality improvement of health care.
