Resumen
This is a study of literature review which aims to identify the importance of caregivers of elderly institutionalized and home. Given this fact, we observed that caring for an elderly at home or in a long-stay institution is an arduous, stressful. Care to the elderly is usually delegated to a person who is not just an activity and just combining it with other tasks, which interferes with daily activities of the caregiver and in particular in his personal life. The example in child care, household, career, among others. This accumulation of activity results in depletion, may lead the caregiver to illness. Normally the establishment of long-stay is specified as a place for living for the elderly on the grounds that the family can not stay with your loved ones from a certain age, there is no justification to take care of it. The search for source literature was performed on the descriptors: Caregiver for elderly, nursing, long-stay institution, preparation of staff. To do this, there was an advanced search in the database electronic SCIELO BDENF Magazine cogitare and REE Electronic Journal of Nursing, Surveillance, Standards Creating long-stay institution, and books in the Library of UFMG / MG After search found about 81 articles of which 24 were selected journals and has been researched in SCIELO BDENF cogitare Magazine and Electronic Journal of Nursing, Surveillance, Standards Building Homes for books and the Library of UFMG / MG , which best approached the objectives of the work. The appropriation of the knowledge gained in this study, leads us to say that the profession of Elderly Caregivers is already in our country since the beginning of nursing and currently leads us to ponder the significance of this new profession in the labor market. Population aging is real and everyone is looking for ways to age more consciously and with dignity, family members are more conscious about taking care of their elderly and that the daily need of more qualified people to watch and the best longterm institutions, want to change the way they are seen as being a place of abandonment. Thus, not enough to argue about the importance of nursing caregivers need to encourage them to seek new knowledge and in future this profession is seen as essential. Finally, it is expected to offer the FHP subsidies on the importance of caregivers of elderly institutionalized and home.
