dc.description.abstract | Since the introduction of power electronics, static switch based equipments applications has significantly increased over several industry segments. Along with the proliferation of such technology, the concern with harmonic distortion effects on power systems is increasingly gaining the overall attention. It results on a need for electrical studies which analysis the nature of harmonic currents generated by a power plant, both for the national power regulatory authority, which expects the compliance of established limits, and general consumers, worried with the systems proper functioning. Focusing on frequency domain method, this work will initially present an overview about the main models adopted in power system harmonics studies. These simplified models were compared with more complex representations, found in electromagnetic transient programs. After such model validation proceeding, a search for typical values of electric parameters was carried. Besides the electrical standards and specific literature, the database was collected from electrical studies of major power plants and manufacturer catalogs. A sensibility analysis was carried on two study cases with distinct systems characteristics. Several aspects such as equipment modeling, systems simplifications, utilization of typical parameters, etc., were analyzed, verifying its influence over the power system harmonics results | |
