dc.description.abstractThis work presents a numeric model for the cooling of tubes along a bed of resfriament using the finite volume method. The proposed numeric model considers the gradients of temperature in theaxial, radial and angular directions of the tube. Several radiation configuration factors and convective heat transfer are used for the obtaining of the boundary conditions of the problem. The mathematical model of this work was validated using the experimental results. Theexperiments were accomplished at the hangar of thermal treatment of the Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes, in Belo Horizonte, in which the temperatures of a tube were obtained in several positions along it length. The developed mathematical model was used to determine thevariation of the temperature profile in relation to the coordinates radial, angular and axial and of those directions in relation to the velocity of the air.
