dc.description.abstractThe synthesis and analysis of scientific publications dealing with citizenship education and nursing practice in Brazil was the aim of this study method was used integrative review of the literature. The study population consisted of 108 publications and nine of these were selected for sampling. After analyzing the studies identified the following categories: citizenship and content of education, citizenship and education strategy, citizenship and vocational training, citizenship in daily work, citizenship, and citizenship curriculum and health promotion. Although you can not generalize the results to the survey, due to the limited number of studies, it was possible to identify major gaps in addressing the issue. Not noted in most studies, priority talk in a clear, practical and profound theme, even though the issue of citizenship is presented more fully in education and health, among the areas inhabited by man. And these two dimensions, education and health, that nursing is in the attention space needs and where individual and collective decision-making involving the values of citizenship. This is a subject that is not exhausted and, therefore, is not difficult to fill the gaps in this research. It is, then, here the challenge for the development of scientific studies about citizenship education in nursing, because only then will emerge new perspectives on the topic under study.
