dc.description.abstractThis study aims to reflected the proposed reorganization of mental health care for primary care in the city of Governador Valadares/ MG and understand the context in which these proposals are inserted. The methodology used to achieve the proposed objectives was the analysis of the documents produced by the local government, such as the report of the micro-regional Conference held in 2010. Also, theoretical foundation to support the analysis was searched. The significant involvement of UAPS workers and the relatives of mental health patients in their health care has significantly contributed to the construction of public policies, establishing a network of services in the city guided by the respect for the dignity and freedom of mental health patients.
