Resumen
One of the skills that nurses must develop is the decision-making. In practice, the nurse makes decisions in different situations of care and customer care management. In order to achieve competence in decision making, nurses must develop cognitive skills, techniques, emotional and social. This study aimed to identify what skills should be developed for decision making in nursing. It is an integrative review study conducted by the steps made by Ganong (1987). We used two database: Lilacs and Scielo, and the descriptors: "Decision making" and "Clinical Competence or Skill" and "nursing". Found 15 items, and after reading and applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, seven articles were selected for the study. We applied a tool for data collection and descriptive analysis performed. We identified several skills for decision making, the most constant were: clinical reasoning (hypothetico-deductive model), evidence-based medicine, training of cognitive processes, communication, leadership and autonomy. It was possible to identify a scarcity of publications on the topic and that it is a relatively new problem that still requires much study
