This paper seeks to identify differences and similarities between Habermas and Rancière from a parallel between the concepts of damage and communicative action, sensible sharing and world of life, and dissensus and consensus. We reflect on possible complementarity in the concept of politics between both authors, although their prospects appear to be opposed. Since Rancière is concerned with the aesthetic dimension of politics, while Habermas values the logos present in the argumentative process. We believe that both highlight the importance of the ideal of equality and the consideration of the various parts which build up the public sphere (or sensible sharing) to reach a political scene.
