| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study was to conduct a brief review of the literature regarding the main characteristics of ameloblastomas and, subsequently, emphasizing the treatment forms, indications, contraindications, and considerations about the results on the prognosis of the disease. A study was conducted by assessing and reading of scientific papers published in national and international journals available on the portal serial CAPES, Ministry of Education of Brazil, using the following uniterms: ameloblastoma, ameloblastoma management, ameloblastoma treatment. .Although the results showed a trend to divide the treatments in conservative and radical way, many variations between these two modes were observed, mainly due to the pathological type of lesions, patient age, anatomic region involved, stage of development of tumors and rates of recurrence. | |
