dc.description.abstractThe main theme of the present work is the Science, Technology and Society (CTS) approach, on the theme "transgenic foods". Recognizing the complexity of the theme, our study sought to identify and analyze the characteristics of the CTS approach expressed during the application of a didactic sequence organized in three pedagogical moments: problematization, organization and application of knowledge. The didactic sequence was developed using activities prepared by the authors of this research and some available on the Ministry of Education's Teacher Portal. Within this context, questionnaires, audio recordings and a field diary were analyzed during the didactic sequence. In the results, elements that characterize both the CTS approach and the characteristics of the three pedagogical moments were observed. The development of decision-making capacity was explored mainly during the third pedagogical moment, with a simulated jury activity. In the simulated jury, the knowledge developed and organized in the first and second pedagogical moments served as a basis for arguments about the positioning of students in relation to transgenic foods in the decision-making process.
